William (Bill) Connelly

William “Bill” Connelly passed away March 20, 2022.

Bill was born June 23, 1942 to Lawson and Opal Connelly in Ballinger, Texas. He moved to Idaho in 1988.

He graduated in 1960 from Bolsa Grande in Garden Grove, California.

He loved to go fishing and watch football. His favorite team was BSU football.

For employment, he worked in a sawmill in Oregon. He did some work in stucco.

The last 9 and a half years he worked for Ed’s 50’s diner. They were like family to him.

“Billiam (as he was known to his coworkers) was a permanent fixture at Ed’s 50s Café. He started there a month before they began. He was protective, faithful, fun, and a very hard worker. He always found that extra thing to do when nobody was watching. He became family and was loved. And he loved us. He would go out of his way for all of us. He will be truly missed.”

Bill is survived by 2 sons, Bill Connelly (Katie) from Longview, WA, and John Connelly from Roy, Utah; 3 brothers, Ken (Terrie), Andrews, TX, Ray, Nampa, ID, and Bobby (Amy), Hayden, ID; 2 sisters, Winnie Lowther, Idaho, and Barbara Egeland, Caldwell, Idaho; a granddaughter, Amber Laughlin, Layton, UT; and a great-granddaughter, Zadee Connelly, Layton, UT; numerous nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by both parents and a sister, Bonnie Hagan, and a granddaughter, Breeanna Connelly.

A memorial service will take place at 5 p.m. on Tuesday, March 29, 2022 at CityHope Church, 8650 W. Fairview Ave, Boise, ID 83704.
