Willa M. Johntz died Friday, February 5, 2016 in Boise
after a short illness.
Willa was born January 31, 1924 in Boise, ID, the
daughter of Winifred McGuire Maxey and Roy Basil Maxey. She graduated from Jerome High School and
attended the University of Idaho where she was active in the Gamma Phi Beta Sorority.
In 1945 Willa married James A Johntz, Jr. in Boise,
and together they had two sons, Andy and Kevin.
She was member of the Cathedral of the Rockies and sang in the choir for
years. During her later years, she
became the family genealogist, tracing family roots back to Ireland. She had a special love for animals,
especially horses. She enjoyed the
outdoors, fishing and golf.
She is survived by her sons, Andy and his wife, Karen
Burton Johntz of Boise, and Kevin Johntz of Long Beach, CA; and an adopted
daughter, Kathy Lythgoe of Fullerton, CA.
Willa’s family would like to extend their appreciation
to her caregivers C.J. Wilkinson, Stacie Stallings and Michelle Budwee..
