Wanda Ann Watson

Wanda Ann Watson, 85, passed away June 2, 2016 at her home in Boise.

Wanda was born on July 10, 1930 in Kansas City, Missouri to Jenney and Jesse Plummer. Wanda was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, teacher and friend. She will be sorely missed by all.

She dedicated her career to special education and served as a teacher in Utah for over 40 years. She accredited her longevity to her love of her students and the difference she made in their lives.

Wanda’s dedication to her students earned her Teacher of the Year.

Wanda married the love of her life, Robert T. Watson. She and Bob traveled the US in their motor home camping, fishing and visiting fabric stores along the way.

Retirement gave Wanda more time to perfect her skills as a seamstress, particularly in quilting. She was a regular participant and volunteer in the annual Kuna Quilt Show where she often won ribbons for her beautiful work. Family and friends describe her as kind, generous, compassionate and giving. She was always there to give a hand to those less fortunate, helping to organize the La Playa Annual Christmas Bizarre where the proceeds were donated to the Meridian Food Bank.

Wanda is survived by her daughters Sharon Bishop, Gwen Ishizuka, and Connie Clayton, 8 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, and many great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Robert Watson, brother Robert Plummer, and daughter Colleen Maurer.
A Celebration of Wanda’s life will be held on Saturday, July 16th, 2016 from 2pm to 5 pm at La Playa Manor Club House, 350 E. Carmel Dr., Meridian, Idaho 83646.

Wanda requested that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Meridian Food Bank http://meridianfoodbank.org. Remembrances may be left for the family at Alden-Waggoner Funeral Chapel in Boise, http://aldenwaggoner.com
