Simonne Bethyl Huston Surgeon

A graveside service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, November 21, 2015 at Dry Creek Cemetery. A viewing will be held at the Alden-Waggoner Funeral Chapel, 5400 Fairview Avenue, on Friday, November 20th from 5:00 p.m. until 8:30 p.m.

Simonne was born on September 4, 1930 in a little house in Neligh, Nebraska to Dorothy Cary and Roger (Shorty) Huston. The family moved to Idaho in 1940, went to school in Kimberly, ID. Graduated and went to Business College in Twin Falls.

On December 25, 1952, Simonne married Robert E. Surgeon in Kimberly. Robert was in the Navy, in several locations in California until he was discharged. Moved to Oregon where all three kids were born in Roseburg, OR and back to Idaho, settling in Twin Falls. She was a bookkeeper for Twin Falls Bank & Trust, McKenzie Auto Parts, and finally for Surgeon and Kimberly Electric, Moved to Kimberly when the kids were in Jr High and High School. After the kids graduated and moved out, Simonne and Bob moved to Challis, ID in 1979, where Bob started Challis Electric and Simonne was the bookkeeper. Simonne liked playing cards with her girlfriends and hanging with her girlfriends going on road trips to Jackpot and shopping on the way home. In 2006, Simonne retired and moved to Horseshoe Bend, ID with Bob following in 2008 after he retired.

Simonne was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister. Her kids, grandkids and great grandkids were her greatest joy.

Simonne was a good friend to all and she had many friends. She had a pen pal from South Carolina since the 8th grade until she passed. Her name is Margaret.

She is survived by her husband, Robert, Horseshoe Bend; three children, Shawn (Renee), Horseshoe Bend, ID, Shauna, Boise, ID, and Shane (Brenda), Hubbard, OR; 7 grandchildren, Somer (Zach), Zach, Luke, Kylee, Jake, Suzette (Uriah), Demetrius; and 8 great-grandchildren, Kaitlynn, Jayden, Bella, Myleigh, Vylet, Donielle, Dietrich, Emagyne. Her sister, Selma; sister-in-law, Dee; and many nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Dorothy and Roger Huston; a brother, Howard Huston; brother-in-law, Charlie Madesh; nephew, Rodney Madesh; and brothers-in-law, Wes Surgeon and Dean Surgeon.
