Leonard, of Star, Idaho, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, October 3
rd
, 2018.
She was 81.
Shirley was born in Albuquerque, NM to Melvin and Hazel
Barrows Cook. She graduated from Boise High School and went on to
study at Boise Junior College.
In November of 1958, Shirley met Fred Leonard. Their first
date was on December 1
st
(her
birthday), and just two months later, on February 6
th
, 1959,
they were married. They raised their three dear children, and worked togeth
er for decades at Leeway, their family business.
Shirley was a devoted a woman after God’s own heart, and
she faithfully served her family, church and community, sharing the love of
Christ. She loved spending time with her family, and especially enjoyed h
er two grandsons.
While she will be sorely missed by all who knew her, we
take comfort in knowing that she is basking in the presence of her Lord and
Savior.
Shirley is survived by her husband of 59 years, Fred
Leonard, her three children, John Leonard, Th
eresa
Daniels, and Kristi Guinn, son-in-law Scott Guinn, and her grandsons Michael
Daniels and Josiah Guinn, all of Star, Idaho.
