Sharon A. Waters

Sharon Ann Waters was born Sharon Lang in Boise, Idaho in 1947. She grew up as part of the large extended DeMeyer family with many Aunts, Uncles, and Cousins. She attended St. Mary’s, St Teresa’s and was in the first graduating class at Bishop Kelly High School. After deciding college wasn’t for her, she took a job with the State of Idaho in the new area of computers. That is where she met her future husband Tom! After marrying in 1968, they had two girls and agreed that Sharon would be a homemaker and raise her kids. As the kids got older, she returned to the workforce as a teacher's aide, a job she had for 12 years. Sharon was a devoted wife, mother, sister, and Nana, helping to care for both her mother-in-law and mother at the end of their lives, and helping to care for her grandchildren in so many ways. Nana could be counted on for everything from playing with dolls, to dressing up, to fun sleep overs and games where she may, or may not, have cheated. She was very close with her only sister Kathy, and the two of them had a beautiful friendship where they shared many of life’s journeys together. She became a member of Beta Sigma Phi sorority 31 years ago, and with this group she found not only new friendships, but new adventures and opportunities for fun and education. Sharon loved going to the Oregon coast with her grandkids, her husband or her sister. Reading by the ocean was a passion. Road trips with Tom were full of unexpected surprises as he often took her the back way so they could see more. Tom and Sharon built a beautiful life together of 57 years, full of love for family and the many friends they acquired along the way.

Sharon is survived by her husband Errol “Tom” Waters, her daughters Renee Ford (Mike) and Melissa Nash (Kory), her two granddaughters (Grace and Emma) two grandsons (Kieran and Declan), and sister Kathy Doner (John).

A memorial service will be held at Alden Waggoner funeral home on Friday, October 24th at 2 p.m.
