Shari Lea Sayler, born on July 20, 1951, in Deadwood, South Dakota, to Robert and Mona (Cornell) Hamilton, passed away on December 9, 2025, in Meridian, Idaho. She lived a life marked by service, dedication, and a deep love for her family and community.
Shari graduated from Hardin High School in Hardin, Montana, in 1969, and continued her education at Montana State University, where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 1973. With a compassionate heart and a commitment to helping others, she embarked on a fulfilling career as a registered nurse, serving at Indian Health Services, the Boise VA Hospital, St. Luke's Hospital, Nampa Public Schools, and Canyon County Corrections. Her dedication to the nursing profession was fueled by her sincere desire to care for those in need.
On September 11, 1976, Shari married Gary L. Sayler in Hardin, Montana. Together they built a beautiful life filled with cherished memories.
Shari was a proud member of the Nazarene Church, where she nurtured her spiritual life. Additionally, she was involved with her children in the 4-H Club, Kaveman Kritters, and a local horseshoe club. Her interests extended to gardening, planting and potting flowers, playing horseshoes, cross stitch, home decor, and reading—all activities that brought her much joy and fulfillment. A special place resided in Shari's heart for all animals, particularly her beloved Beagle dogs, whom she raised, adored and loved.
Shari is survived by her husband, Gary Sayler of Kuna, ID; son, Nathan Sayler, of San Antonio, TX; daughter, Jess and Andrea (Sayler) Byrne, of Meridian, ID; son, Kyle Sayler, of Wheeling, IL; granddaughter, Alexis Sayler, of Wetumpka, AL; granddaughter, Alannah Sayler, of Wheeling, IL; grandson, Jayce Byrne, of Kuna, ID; and brothers, Rocky and Joyce Hamilton, Mike Hamilton, Danny Hamilton, and Dave and Janice Hamilton.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Memorials are suggested to the Boise Rescue Mission or the Wounded Warriors Project.
A viewing will be held on December 18, 2025, from 9:00 AM to 9:45 AM, followed by a funeral service at 10:00 AM, both at Bethel Church of the Nazarene, 3001 12th Ave. Rd., Nampa, Idaho. A graveside service will take place the same day at the Idaho State Veterans Cemetery in Boise at 1:00 PM.
