Paul Caesar Daugenti, affectionately known to many as “Uncle Paul,” passed away peacefully in his sleep at home in Boise, Idaho, on April 29, 2025, at the age of 79.
Born on October 4, 1945, in Seneca Falls, New York, Paul was known for his colorful personality and remarkable stories—among them, the extraordinary fact that he was struck by lightning three times in his lifetime.
Paul attended Catholic grade school in Geneva, NY, and spent his summers working on his grandparents’ farm, where he developed a lifelong love for working with his hands. In 1956, his family moved to Massena, NY, where he completed high school.
He proudly served in the U.S. Air Force as a refueler on the flight lines, supporting military aircraft. After his service, Paul settled in Waddington, NY, where he met and married Diane (“Dee”). Together, they worked and lived on a 127-acre farm filled with animals, including his favorite pig, Marjorie. Although they later divorced, Paul always held fond memories of his time on the farm.
In 1990, Paul moved to Boise, where he would spend the rest of his life. A master carpenter, he built numerous homes in the Boise area, including his own. He retired in 2014 and spent his later years enjoying gardening, time with friends, and the peaceful life he had built.
Paul will be remembered for his quick wit, generous spirit, and boundless sense of humor. He was the fun uncle—the one everyone looked forward to seeing at camping trips, game nights, or sporting events. He could always be counted on for a joke, a story, or a good-natured ribbing.
He is survived by his brothers Joseph and Carl Daugenti, his son Michael and wife Kelly and granddaughter Vera Wolstat, his nephew and niece Christian and Susan, and his step-nephews Robert and William (with wife Jessica) Longstroth. He was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Caesar and Nelia Daugenti.
A funeral service with military honors will be held at the Idaho State Veterans Cemetery on Wednesday, May 28, at 10:00 a.m. (10100 N Horseshoe Bend Rd, Boise, ID 83714). Paul’s family invites all who knew him to join in celebrating a life well lived.
