Patrick “Pat” Elwood, 84, of Meridian, passed away on Saturday, January 31, 2026.

Pat was born on February 9, 1941 in Riverside, California to Samuel and Viola (Cooper) Elwood. He graduated from high school in Perris, California, and attended college in Los Angeles, California.

He married Barbara in Sunnymead, California on June 4, 1963.

Pat moved to Idaho 6 years ago from Fresno, California.

He enjoyed talking to people, telling stories, and loving people. He also enjoyed collecting classic cars.

Pat lived a life marked by deep faith and generous love. He loved the Lord more than anything and was faithful to the Lord and always attended church. He had a heart for taking care of God’s children, feeding the hungry people, and opening his home through foster care. Pat also loved his own family fiercely. His life was a quiet testimony of service, sacrifice, and love.

He is preceded in death by his parents and 8 siblings.

Pat is survived by Barbara Elwood, Meridian, Jeff Elwood, Meridian, Kelle Elwood Meon, Madera, California, Darren Stillings, Hunter and Samuel Meon, Madera. Pat was 1 of 11 siblings – 3 living, Gloria Young, California, Ronald Elwood, California, and Dwight Elwood, New York.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, February 12, 2026 at New Life Fellowship Church with viewing beginning prior to the service. A graveside service will follow at 2 p.m. at Meridian Cemetery.
