Patricia (Patti) Stedtnitz

Patricia Josephine Stedtnitz, 74, was born September 3, 1942 in Holdrege Nebraska. She was raised in a loving home by her parents with her brothers and sister. Her parents raised her and her siblings in the catholic faith and she attended catholic school. Faith, hope, and love were the tenements that she found refuge in. They were the principles she lived by.

In May of 1959 she met the love of her life, Bobbie Stedtnitz, at the roller skating rink he managed. Patti took one look at him from across the rink and whispered to her friend “that’s the man I am going to spend the rest of my life with.” The couple was married December 27, 1959 in Phillipsburg, Kansas. Their marriage was a testament of love and grew as their family grew. Their marriage became the foundation of their life and they spent the next 54 years together as best friends in love.

She was a loving, compassionate, and caring woman. She supported her beloved husband through dementia while sustaining her own battle with breast cancer. She took her grandchildren under her wing when they needed her and each of them developed their own special relationship with her. She never met a stranger. She always spoke her mind; you always knew where you stood with her. Her heart bled when someone she cared about hurt and rejoiced when her loved ones found joy. Her ability to forgive will forever be unmatched.

Patti was an active member of Sacred Heart Church since the early 1960’s. She spent most of her days raising her children, sharing laughter with her friends, volunteering, and helping with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her heart swelled at the sight of her grandchildren. Family, including her Church Family, was everything to her. Her deepest wish was to be surrounded by the love of her family.

Patti is survived by a loving family; her sister and brother-in-law, Jerry and Shirley Barnett; her brother and sister-in-law, Al (Berneil) and Dawn Conant; her grandchildren, Christopher Ryan Tucker, Joshua Tucker, and Holli Tucker; her many aunts and uncles; her children, Martin Stedtnitz and Lola and Daryl Barnett; 4 great-grandchildren; and wonderful nieces and nephews.

A very special thank you to Jerry and Shirley Barnett; Al (Berneil) and Dawn Conant; Ryan, Josh and Holli Tucker; and Denny and Jean Wilkin for their love, support, and kindness during Bob and Pat’s times of need. You saved their lives.
