Michael Ray Balliett

Michael R. "Mike" Balliett, 69, of Boise, passed away on Sunday, December 28, 2025, at his home, surrounded by his daughter, Michelle, and sister, Cherie, holding his hands.

Born in Santa Rosa, California, on December 21, 1956, Mike was the son of Joann and Ronald Balliett. He grew up in California and graduated from Rancho Cotate High School. Over the years, Mike lived in Santa Rosa, CA; San Francisco, CA; and Sequim, WA, before settling in Boise, Idaho. He dedicated 37 years of service to Costco before retiring.

Mike had a deep passion for sports, especially golf, and loved watching sports with his daughter, Michelle. He also enjoyed spending time with family and traveling, often to support his grandson, Brady, at his sports events. A lifelong learner, Mike had a profound appreciation for nature and history, and he was a passionate advocate for Civil Rights.

Mike was a proud member and donor to both the Idaho Humane Society and AARP.

He is survived by his children: Michelle Balliett (Boise, ID), Jason Woosley (Truckee, CA), Kristi Webster (Billings, MT), and nephew Cameron Balliett (Oakland, CA); his siblings: Cherie Balliett (Boise, ID), Bobbie Shatto (Boise, ID), and Sue Moiser (Texas); and his beloved grandchildren: Brady, Sawyer, Scarlet, Brantley, and Fiona. He was preceded in death by his parents.

A memorial service will be held on Sunday, February 15, 2026 at Spurwing Golf Course Sunset Room. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in Mike's name to the Idaho Humane Society.
