Maxine Evelyn Williams

Evelyn Maxine Hardy was born on Friday, October 4th, 1929, in Ericson Nebraska. She had one older brother, Carroll and was an amazing older sister to brother Dwayne and sister Beverly.

In 1936 the Hardy family made the big move to Boise, Idaho. Maxine graduated from Boise High School in 1948, and in 2018 she attended her 70th High School Class Reunion. Maxine was so great at keeping connections and long standing friendships with those she cherished.

While in her teenage years, Maxine worked as a theater attendant at the now classic Egyptian Theater in downtown Boise. Both Maxine and her sister Beverly would often share stories of an occasion when Maxine took Beverly to work with her for a day and Beverly had the joy of watching her favorite fairytale, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs on repeat.

Maxine was a doting mother to Karen, Greg, and Bob. She valued and respected her children dearly and often carried the role of not just mother, but best friend. While Maxine was a remarkable mother, she was also a true and trusted wife, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. There was nothing more valuable to her than her family and dear friends.

Maxine lived a full and plentiful life working at a local phone company, a dentist office and for many years with the Meridian School District. In her spare time, you would often find her tending to her gardens of beautiful flowers and vegetables. No weed stood a chance in her garden! She loved her sweet pups Tippie and China, they were her trusted companions. Throughout the years she was a devoted member of her local Methodist Church and thoroughly enjoyed playing the organ.

On Monday, June 20th, 2022, Evelyn Maxine Williams was called to rest by her heavenly father. Maxine was preceded in death by her parents, Samuel and Maudie Hardy, husband Jim Williams, daughter Karen Zewe, and siblings Carroll Hardy, Dwayne Hardy and Beverly Tryborn. Maxine leaves behind her sons Greg Smith and Bob Smith as well as her granddaughter Stacy Ford and great grandson Drew Ragland. In addition, she will be remembered and cherished by numerous in-laws, nieces, nephews and friends that will forever hold memories of her in their hearts.

Graveside services will be held 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 5th, 2022 at Dry Creek Cemetery. A viewing will be held that morning from 9 a.m. to 11:00a.m. at Alden-Waggoner Funeral Chapel.
