Mary C. Lynard

Our precious and beautiful Mother, Mary Lynard, passed away on Monday, June 6, 2022, at a local care facility, at the age of 96. Mary was born on June 2, 1926, to Elsie (Waddell) and Herbert Hanes. She was the fourth of five children. She spent her growing up years on their farm in Kimberly and graduated in 1944 from Kimberly High School. She had fond memories of being raised on the farm, although there were many chores and hardships, too. As a young girl, Mary liked to ride horses, climb trees, play with friends, and be with her large family, immediate and extended.

After graduation, Mary moved to Mountain Home and lived with her sister and brother-in-law, while working at the Mountain Home Air Force Base during World War ll. She returned to Twin Falls and worked at Idaho Power. While there, she met the love of her life, Robert Lynard. They were married on December 30, 1948. They welcomed a son, William Gary in 1949 and a daughter, Barbara Ann in 1953. They moved their young family to Pocatello for a short time and then to Boise in 1954 for Bob's job. Mary worked for a short time at the Intermountain Gas Company and eventually went to work at Touche Ross CPA Firm for 25 years, retiring in 1986. Over the years, she and Bob had many enjoyable trips in the United States and Canada, several cruises and a trip to Europe. However, their favorite vacation spot was Hayden Lake in northern Idaho, which they enjoyed for 10 years when the children were young.

They enjoyed living in Boise's North End and raising their children there. Many long-term friendships were formed in the neighborhood. Bob passed away in 2000 and Mary eventually moved into a one-level home in northwest Boise in 2003. She continued with her active lifestyle by having lunch with friends, gathering with the coffee klatch group on Fridays, going to the gym, attending PEO meetings, going to plays, and volunteering at the Morrison Center. Mary liked to garden, cook, read, and spend time with family and friends.

She was a kind, generous and loving Mother and Grandmother and nothing was more important to Mary than her family. She loved spending time with her children and grandchildren, who were the delights of her life. Her grandchildren will always remember the homemade macaroni and cheese that she made especially for them.

Mary was predeceased by her parents, husband, and all of her siblings Lucile, Bill, Bob, and Charles. She is survived by her children, son Bill (Tami) Lynard, and daughter Barbara (Jim) Collingwood, as well as her grandchildren Taylor (Angie) Lynard and their daughter, Phoenix; Amanda (Scott) Hillis and their children, Cooper and Tyson; and, Matthew (Ashlyn) Lynard; step-grandchildren, Robb Collingwood, Britt Murray, Tyler Murray, and their families; as well as, several cousins, nephews and nieces.

The family wants to thank the staff at Morningstar Senior Living for the exceptional care Mom received these past few years, as well as Keystone Home Health and Hospice and St Luke's Internal Medicine.

There will not be a service at this time.
