Mark Alexander “Alec” Robinson III of McCall, Idaho peacefully passed away Tuesday morning, December 13th.

Mark was born in Boise, Idaho on June 13th, 1941. He was in the first graduating class from Borah High in 1959 and graduated from the University of Idaho in 1963 with a degree in business. He was a member of the Sigma Nu fraternity.

On September 7th, 1963 he married Jayne Springer of Boise, ID. After their Boise wedding they moved to Fort Knox, Ky and later to Fort Collins, CO where he was stationed in the Army. After his military service he began his lifelong career with Caterpillar and various CAT dealerships with relocations to IL, MN and KY. Upon retiring from Whayne Supply in 2003, they returned home to Idaho, settling in McCall.

Mark was involved with several boards and groups giving back to his community. These included Cedar Lake Inc., Shepherd’s Home, St. Luke’s Hospital McCall, Rotary Club of McCall and McCall Community Congregational Church.  In his many roles he was described as characteristically quiet and unassuming, yet a devoted and respected leader. Mark especially enjoyed his many travels around the world with his wife and time spent with family.

Mark is survived by his wife Jayne; son Scott (Emily) Robinson of Louisville, KY; daughter Kathy (John) Flanagan of Atascadero, CA; his four grandchildren Johnny & Conner Flanagan, Samantha & Katie Robinson; sister Carol (Greg) Hutchins of Rocky Mount, NC; brother John (Julie) Robinson of Boise, ID; nieces and nephews including  Kim (Joe) Vallejos, Mark (Sarah) Hutchins, Amanda (Drew) Miiler and Sam Robinson.

The family will be holding a celebration of life at a later date in McCall, ID. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Shepherd’s Home Foundation (shepherds-home.org/donate-now) or Heartland Hunger & Resource Center 556 Deinhard Ln, McCall ID 83638  ph# 208-634-3037
