Lori Ann Allen, a devoted wife, cherished mother, beloved grandmother, and treasured friend, passed away peacefully in her home on May 10, 2025, in Meridian, Idaho, at the age of 61, surrounded by her closest loved ones.
Born on November 25, 1963, in Van Nuys, California, Lori’s life was a radiant example of unconditional love, enduring strength, and unwavering compassion. Her heart, generous beyond measure, touched every life she encountered. Whether through her laughter, her guidance, or the warm embrace of her presence, Lori made the world a softer, kinder place.
Lori was the proud and devoted mother of fourteen children: Rick Harris Jr., David Harris, Michael Harris, Celia Ramos, Joy Harris-Retama, Sarah Zapata, Katie Allen, Dustin Allen, Melanie Allen, Ryan Allen, Jeremy Allen, Brendon Allen, Zachary Allen, and Conner Allen. Her legacy continues through her 24 grandchildren and 1 great-granddaughter, each one a shining thread in the beautiful tapestry of her family for which Lori lived—her greatest pride, her constant purpose.
She found joy in life’s simple moments: Her home was always open, her arms always welcoming, and her heart always full. Those who knew Lori will remember her kindness, her fierce loyalty, and her ability to make everyone feel seen and loved. Her spirit lives on in the laughter of her grandchildren, the wisdom she passed down, and the countless memories held dear by those she touched.
Lori was preceded in death by her parents Lou and Loretta Briggs, her brother Dean Nelson, and two of her daughters, Katie and Melanie. She is survived by her loving husband, Edgar Allen, whose partnership and devotion brought deep joy to her life, twelve of her children, and her sister Laura McDermitt. Though their hearts are heavy, her family finds comfort in knowing that Lori is at peace, watching over them alongside Katie and Melanie.
