Linda Reed passed away peacefully at home on Saturday June 21st, 2025, surrounded by her family.
Linda was born in Boise Idaho to Mary Lou and Bud Wicks in 1946. She attended Washington Elementary School and North Junior High before graduating from Boise High School in 1964. After graduation, she began working for the Idaho Transportation Department as a Data Entry Clerk, and later moving on to Boise State University before finally retiring with St Alphonsus Hospital in 2005.
On November 26th, 1966, she married Ronald Reed. They welcomed 2 children Brandi and Rachel over the next 10 years.
Linda and Ron enjoyed travelling on the motorcycle over much of the western US with their friends. Linda enjoyed spending time with her close childhood friends, shopping, playing Bunko, reading, and doing crossword puzzles. In 2005 she retired to care for her beloved granddaughters. Linda often volunteered at the voting polls and the St Luke’s Gift Shop over the years. If you knew Linda, you were acquainted with her wicked sense of humor and her sharp wit and her love of Elvis. In 2021 Ron and Linda even visited Graceland, it was her dream trip. She loved fast cars and even faster airplanes. She was the life of the party everywhere she went. However. Nothing made her happier than spending time with her grandkids.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, mother Mary Lou DeRousse, Father Bud Smith, brother Ronald Wicks.
Linda is survived by her husband of 59 years Ron Reed, Sister Cara Lou Wifler, Sister-in-law Marcia Brennan, Sister-in-law Diane Wicks, Daughter Brandi Reed, Daughter Rachel (Kelly)Bourn, Granddaughters Audrey and Lily Bourn, and many beloved nieces, nephews and grand nieces and nephews. Finally, many friends with some of whom she was close with for over 70 years.
The family asks in lieu of flowers please donate to the Alzheimer’s associations(www.alz.org) or Racing Against Dementia(www.racingagainstdemntia.com) in Linda’s honor.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
