Karen Hess passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 13, 2026 in Twin Falls, Idaho. She was born on October 11, 1939 in Burley, Idaho to Clayne and Margaret Adams. She was raised in Burley along with her sister Doreen and brother Galen. Following graduation from Burley High School in 1956 she attended Utah State University in Logan, Utah.
Karen married Dallas Hess on June 15, 1961 in the Idaho Falls temple. Together they raised five children, Chad (Tamara) Hess, Kara (Michael) Gracia, Brenda (David) Lister, Cameron (Jennifer) Hess, and Jared (Megan) Hess. She has 17 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.
Her greatest joy was being a homemaker, wife, mother and grandmother and her family was truly blessed by her example of love, service, and selflessness.
She was a lifelong member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints where she held many callings throughout the years. In 2008 she and Dallas served a mission in Oakland, California where she enjoyed meeting people from all around the world and serving the people of Oakland.
Karen loved to spend time with her family, played the piano beautifully, was an excellent cook and enjoyed traveling. She will be greatly missed but is now happy being reunited with her parents and other family that preceded her in death.
