Jennifer Zimbra

June 11, 1965 — May 25, 2025

Marsing

Jennifer Lee Zimbra, 59, was called home to the Lord surrounded by family at her home in Marsing, ID, on May 25,2025. Jennifer was born June 11, 1965 in Binghamton, NY, to parents Robert and Ida Liechti Wagstaff. Jennifer was a fighter-surviving Hodgkin's lymphoma three times, and after being cancer free for well over thirty years, she finally succumbed to the long-term effects of the radiation treatments she endured so many years ago.

Jennifer lived in the Straits Corners area of Candor, NY for most of her life, graduating from Tioga Central School in 1983. She later became a school bus driver there when her children were in elementary school. She also volunteered in their classrooms. After that she worked at Riverview Manor Nursing Home, Cornell University, and the Tioga County Department of Mental Hygiene. In 2011 she moved to Idaho to be near several other family members and worked for Idaho State Police.

She settled in Marsing, ID, where she eventually met one of her daughter, Jacquine's, neighbors - Jonnie Zimbra - the man who quickly became the love of her life. They married in January 2021 and though they only had five years together, they were inseparable. Their favorite place was their property on Whidbey Island, WA, where she would spend time whale watching, collecting sea glass and sea shells, and digging clams. Jennifer's other constant companion was her Australian Shepherd, Simeon, whom she took a great deal of pride in keeping meticulously groomed and training to do all sorts of tricks. Jennifer especially loved bird watching and had a yard full of bird feeders. For the last few years she enjoyed watercolor painting and collecting beautiful teacups and hand-blown glass pumpkins.

Jennifer was preceded in death by her parents and her older brother Michael Wagstaff.

She is survived by: her loving husband Jonnie; her sister, Roberta (Gary) Whittemore of Caldwell, ID; daughters Jacquine (Marion) Shippy of Marsing, ID, and Logan (David Jr) Marcocci of Owego, NY; much beloved grandchildren Amaya Hendershot and Wesley Marcocci; an aunt, Linda Brink; nieces Lori-Kay Wagstaff and Kendra (Steve) Smith; and former step-children Kyle and Amanda Green.

Her last years brought many health struggles but through it all Jonnie was by her side. We had hoped for more time, but it wasn't to be. Fly high, Jemp, you are free and enjoying Heaven's glories. Say hi to our loved ones for us. We love you forever but we grieve with hope and will miss you until we see you again.

In honor of Jennifer's wishes there will be no services.
