Inez M. Ragsdale

Inez M. Ragsdale, 88, loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother, passed away on Saturday, March 6, 2021. Inez was born in Sidney, Iowa on May 16, 1932. She was the only child of Joseph and Helen Rhoades. The family moved to Buhl, Idaho when Inez was in her teens. Inez met Charles Ragsdale and they married in Buhl on June 3, 1950. Charles worked for Morrison Knudsen and was a driver on C.J. Strike and Hells Canyon dams. The family moved to Boise in 1959 when Charles became a long haul truck driver for Browning Freight Lines, Silver Wheel Freight Lines and finally Roadway Express. Inez was kept busy raising their three daughters as Charles was often on the road. Charles retired in 1991 and they were actively involved in the RV Volunteers Mission America Placement Service (MAPS) and helped build churches in Oregon, Washington, California, Arizona and Idaho. They also volunteered at the Love Center Food Bank in Boise. Inez continued on with this volunteer work after Charles’ death in 1995. Inez loved to travel, and went on a solo two-week trip to Europe. She also was active in her church, New Hope Nazarene, and enjoyed numerous concerts, lunches with friends and family, and bingo at her independent living condo.

Inez is survived by her three daughters Carol Allen (Gary) of Boise, Kay Holt (Dave) of Pacific City, Oregon, and Janice Larson of Prescott Valley, Arizona; three grandchildren Christy Allen-Bess (Brian), Justin McReynolds Holt, and Cara Rainwater, and six great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Charles, her parents Joseph and Helen Rhoades, and her grandson Matthew Allen.

A graveside Memorial Service celebrating her life will be held at Terrace Lawn Memorial Gardens in Boise, ID on Saturday, May 15, 2021 at 1 p.m.
