The Cameron family lived in Toronto until she was 11 years old. At that time, her parents were called to the mission field and moved the family to La Ceiba, Honduras It was in Honduras where Heather’s love for mission work and ministry began. On June 13, 1964, John and Heather were married in Union City, IN, and had a formal wedding in Arcanum, OH, at John’s home church. Over the next several years, they had two boys, Jeff and John Mark. After six years of bible college, the Lord led them to apply to Village Missions as missionary pastors. For 47 years, they served as a Village Missions couple, with their first assignment in Carey, ID. After that, they served in Oregon, where their daughter, Angie, was born. Over the next ten years, they served in Washington and Colorado. During those years, Heather was very involved with Christian Women’s Clubs. With the Lord’s leading, John and Heather were assigned by VM to move back to Idaho. In June of 1983, John and Heather moved three teenagers to Meridian, Idaho. Throughout the years of Heather being a pastor’s wife, she was very involved in playing the piano, singing, teaching classes, leading women’s ministry, filling in as church secretary, an encourager, and everything in between. Heather loved music, which included playing the piano, organ, accordion, and singing. She was very crafty and creative. Heather had a firm faith and a great desire to reach the lost with the Gospel.
