Glenn Romig

Hello, or maybe I should say goodbye! I am Glenn Romig and I passed away on December 26, 2020. I was born February, 25, 1925 in Vancouver, Washington to loving and supportive parents, Chester M. and Pauline Romig. My siblings are Chester and Lila. They arrived here ahead of me. I have joined them for the ultimate family reunion. For those who know me, thank you for all you have done for me. Many people and organizations have been a part of my very happy life. The Portland Public Schools and my Baptist church attendance are remembered for getting me a start. A tour of duty in the central Pacific during WW 2 with the U. S. Marine Corps, Oregon State College, a career with Sears and attendance at various churches were experiences with people that were very good to me and I thank them all for their friendships.

The joy of my life has been my family. The support of my wife, Mary has been outstanding and I love you very much. My children; Marsha, Tom, Glenn and Laura all are in successful careers. Maybe all my yelling at them provided enough wind beneath their wings to make them successful in their family lives, also giving us six grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

All of you who wish may join together to say goodbye at Southminster Presbyterian Church. Don’t buy flowers – give to your charity.

Glenn/Dad was a loving caring husband/father who gave us unconditional support throughout our lives with him. We will miss him greatly. A celebration of his life is planned at Southminster Presbyterian Church when it is safe to do so.
