Gary Roland Towle

Gary Roland Towle, 76 of Boise, Idaho, rode the horse provided by his Lord into the light of glory on October 28, 2025. As a teenager Gary was active in the Bell Choir at the Cathedral of the Rockies in Boise. He graduated from Boise High School in 1967. Beginning his collegiate adventure at Boise State University, he graduated from Idaho State University in 1972 with a BA degree in Education. While attending Idaho State University he met and married Mary Ann Messenger from Jerome, Idaho. They moved to Boise to be close to the Towle family. In 1975 he started the private security company, Security by Towle, where he remained president until its closure in 2007. Being an entrepreneur, he started Towle Outfitter & Guides where he combined his passion for horses and the outdoors. Many clients enjoyed riding the trails on horseback with Gary in the Idaho City area. Some were adventurous enough to join Gary on trips into the Idaho Primitive Wilderness on hunting expeditions. Gary was an active member of Idaho Back Country Horsemen for as long as his health permitted. He joined the Brookdale Assisted Living community in 2020 where his loving heart quickly got him “elected” as the first ever “Mayor”. He remained in his town until, surrounded by those who loved him dearly until his passing.

Gary is preceded in death by his mother, Edith Rowlins Towle and father Ralph Roland Towle. He is survived by his ex-wife and life-time friend Mary Ann Towle; two daughters Wendy Towle and Mariah Fowler; three granddaughters Kenya Fowler, Olivia Fowler Moerkerken (Tristan Moerkerken), and Leia Fowler; two brothers Rocky (Terrie) Towle and Wes (Jeannie) Towle.

Services will be held at 10:00am on November 3, 2025 at Alden-Waggoner Funeral Chapel.
