Donna (Vaudrey) Stieger

Donna (Vaudrey) Stieger passed away peacefully on October 3, 2022. She was a loving wife, sister, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. Donna was born in Nampa on December 8,1929. After attending Nampa High School, she moved to Boise and started working as a telephone operator until she married Charles Stieger. They had one daughter, Vicki, and one son, Stephen. They built their forever home in Boise and lived there for 60 years. She worked in the jewelry department for 20 years at Great Western/ Best until the store closed in 1997. She made many friends there and loved selling those diamonds!  She was always a hard worker, kept a spotless house, and loved working with Charlie in their many beautiful flowerbeds and garden. She was a member of several bowling leagues and garden clubs over the years. Her family all lived close by and enjoyed annual Easter egg hunts at their house and many BBQs with her famous potato salad. Donna was a big Boise State fan, and had season tickets for football and basketball for many years with her family. She was hiking up the second level of Bronco stadium into her 80s. She attended the first Boise State Fiesta Bowl and many road games including Reno, Hawaii and Virginia Tech in Washington DC.

Donna and Charlie traveled extensively and loved visiting Switzerland and attending Charlie's Navy reunions across the United States.  Donna also traveled through Europe and  Asia with her best friend Rosella. Donna and her family took cruises to Alaska, Panama Canal, Mexico and the Caribbean.

Donna was greeted in Heaven by her husband, parents, brother, and many friends. She will be dearly missed by her children and grandchildren and their families.  The family would like to thank Keystone Hospice and Samaritan Senior Care for their exceptional kindness, she so appreciated them. We also want to thank Touchmark for making Mom feel at home.

A graveside service will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, October 13, 2022 at Terrace Lawn Memorial Gardens. Lunch will follow at Louie’s Italian Restaurant.
