Constantine “Gus” Georgilakis, a remarkable son and brother, passed away on May 15, 2026 in Boise, Idaho at the age of 56. Gus was born to Maria and Annivas Georgilakis on June 25, 1969 in Queens, New York.
Most will remember Gus as a man who loved to talk and who loved to listen. He was genuinely interested in knowing the stories of his friends, employees, customers, colleagues and acquaintances. He loved to laugh and to make others laugh with his childhood experiences of growing up as a Greek American in New York. He loved a good cigar and bourbon.
Among many of his accomplishments, Gus was a successful business owner and entrepreneur. Gus was a supporter of Saints Constantine and Helen Greek Orthodox church. His expertise and generosity helped make the Boise Greek Food Festival the successful event it has grown to be today. He will not only be deeply missed by his family and friends, but also by the restaurant community, special events community and the Greek community. He enriched more lives than he could imagine.
Gus is preceded in death by his parents Maria and Annivas Georgilakis. He is survived by his brother, George Georgilakis, his sister-in-law, Nathalie De La Mota, his niece, Sophia Maria and nephew, Nicholas, all of whom he loved dearly.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Sts. Constantine & Helen Greek Orthodox Church/Boise Greek Food Festival.
