Chris Raymond Jones was born on October 11th, 1968, in Spokane, Washington, where he spent his very early years before moving to Denver, Colorado, where he was raised. In 1988, he joined the United States Navy and proudly served for five years. He was stationed in San Diego and was deployed during the Persian Gulf War. His time in the military was marked by courage, dedication, and a lot of muscles. Upon honorable discharge from the military, he moved to Portland, Oregon, where Chris met and married the love of his life, Julia. The two were married and later settled in Meridian, Idaho, in 2002 to raise their growing family. Chris was a devoted family man who found his greatest joy in time spent with those he loved. He is survived by his wife, Julia; his children, Jessica (married to Phillip), Kyle (married to Arianna), and Matthew; as well as his cherished grandchildren, Jonathan and Krew. He is also survived by his mother, Judy, and his brothers, Curt and Wade.
Chris loved the Lord Jesus deeply and lived his life as a reflection of that faith. He was kind, humble, and full of grace, impacting those around him. He built a legacy of loyalty, love, and laughter, and his presence brought warmth and joy to everyone who knew him.
A man of many passions, Chris had a special love for the outdoors. He especially loved fishing and hunting for arrowheads, often turning those quiet moments in nature into cherished memories. He was also a true car enthusiast, with a particular love for Mopars. His creativity and mechanical skills showed in the way he customized and built BMX bikes—another passion of his. Music was another outlet of joy for Chris. He loved playing the guitar (anything 80s classic rock) and was known for his quick wit and humor. He was a master of nicknames and jingles. Chris had a knack for turning any topic into a clever tune, always bringing smiles to the people around him.
A memorial service to honor Chris’s life will be held on June 10th at 1:00 PM at the Idaho State Veterans Cemetery in Boise. Family and friends are invited to gather and celebrate the legacy of this remarkable man whose laughter, wisdom, and heart will never be forgotten. Chris will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered always.
