Carolyn Ann Overseth, age 84, passed away peacefully on December 12, 2025. She was born on September 22, 1941, in Cherry Valley, Illinois, to Harold and Dorothy (Harrower) Yunek. She had four older siblings: Marilyn, Robert, William, and Kenneth.
Carolyn was preceded in death by her beloved son, Greg Cunningham, and by her husbands, Carrol Dean “Red” Cunningham, Howard Franklin Manly, and James Alvin Overseth. She is survived by her daughter, Julie Cunningham, and grandson, Jason Matthew Cunningham.
Carolyn was deeply loved by her family and a wide circle of friends. She was known for her warmth, her wit, and her genuine interest in others. She was an impeccable host and cook, and a “Great” Aunt to many nieces and nephews.
A lifelong learner, Carolyn worked for many years in banking and took pride in staying current with technology long after retirement. She also greatly enjoyed trips to the Oregon coast, which brought her peace and happiness.
In her Star, Idaho community, Carolyn was a passionate advocate for pickleball. Her enthusiasm and leadership helped grow the sport locally. In recognition of her dedication, new pickleball courts were named in her honor—a lasting tribute to her community spirit and love of connection.
A memorial service celebrating Carolyn’s life will be held on Sunday, January 11, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at the Heron River Community Center, located at 9800 W. Gloxinia Street, Star, Idaho 83669.
Carolyn will be remembered for her kindness, her energy, and the many lives she touched. Her legacy lives on through her family, her friends, and the community she helped build.
