Bruce George Huizinga, 79, of Boise, passed away on Wednesday, October 27, 2021 at his home of natural causes. A funeral service will be held on Monday, November 1, at 10:30 a.m., at the Alden-Waggoner Funeral Chapel, Boise, with viewing beginning one hour prior. A graveside service will follow at 3:00 p.m. at Pleasantview Cemetery in Burley, Idaho.

Bruce was born on October 28, 1941 in Idaho Falls to Art Huizinga and Ann (Boerema) Huizinga. He graduated from Burley High School in 1959, and went on to receive his Bachelor of Arts in Business from Idaho State University. He served in the Army in the 101 st Airborne Division from 1959-1961. Bruce married Judy Gorringe on June 9, 1962 in Boise. Bruce was the Vice President of Sales at Magic Valley Foods in Rupert. Bruce and Judy resided in Pocatello, Heyburn and Boise. Some of Bruce’s hobbies included, reading, hunting anything (especially pheasant), and fishing (especially on Henry’s Lake). His special interests included politics and FOX News. Bruce loved golfing with his family. He was extremely proud of his kids and grandkids, and they were the light of his life. He was a huge storyteller to all.

Bruce was preceded in death by his parents, and two brothers, Ken Huizinga and Dick Huizinga.

He is survived by his wife Judy Huizinga of Boise; a son Mike (Jess) Huizinga of Boise; a daughter Kristina (Jim) Wilkinson of Pocatello; grandkids, Anthony (Katie) Wilkinson of Salt Lake City, UT, Parker Wilkinson of Pocatello, Blake, Evan and Annie Huizinga of Boise; and a sister Marlene (Alvin) Temple of Burley.
