Bob Schmidt, 75, of Meridian died Friday, November 27, 2015 surrounded by family and loved ones of natural causes. A memorial service will be held Saturday, December 5, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at Alden-Waggoner Funeral Chapel.
Bob was born December 26, 1939 in Iowa City, Iowa. Bob had an adventuresome life; served in the Navy, sung with Johnny Cash and his brother Chuck. It wasn’t until he met the love of his life Vanessa that he settled down. A devoted dad and husband; Ness and Bob shared a great life. An avid fisherman, if he wasn’t fishing he was talking about fishing. He may have dry-walled during the day but at night it was all the music and supporting Black Tooth Grin (his son’s band).
Bob was preceded in death by his wife of 39 years, two children Donovan and Tammy.
Bob is survived by his son Jeremy (Squeekie), daughter, Cassie (Travis) Rouse, son Shandon; grandchildren, Bradley Schmidt, Harley Rouse and one on the way. Nieces and nephews in Idaho, Nebraska and Iowa.
Memorials may be made in Bob’s name to any charities benefiting children.
