Barbara Irene Alverson age 77 a long time resident of Boise, Idaho, died at home on November 6, 2014, from her 7 year battle with cancer, while her battle was courageous it was just not meant to be, and she finally succumbed to this insidious disease. Mom will always be remembered for her love of life and her devotion to her children and grandchildren. Mom was born in Worchester, Massachusetts on the 13th of February, 1937 to Leonard and Sophie Hardy and completed all of her education there. After high school, mom joined the United States Army where she met the love of her life Raymond Alverson. She moved with her husband to Boise, Idaho where they remained for the rest of their lives. Mom and Dad raised their seven children there.
Mom worked for the Idaho Fish & Game for many years from where she retired in 2001 to care for her husband who was also battling cancer.  Mom and Dad loved the great outdoors and loved to go camping, hunting, and fishing together and they in turn passed this love of life onto their 7 children.  Mom was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church for 58 years.
