Anthony Scott “Tony” Powers

Anthony Scott “Tony” Powers passed away Sunday, July 3, 2016 at home after a short battle with pancreatic cancer.

Tony was born July 13, 1960, in Boise, Idaho, to John Larkin Powers and Barbara Ann (Scott) Powers. He grew up and attended school at Hawthorne Elementary, East Junior High, and Boise High. He earned an Associate’s Degree in Electrical Engineering from Boise State University and began his career in security and alarms at Mosler Safe Company. Tony eventually started his own successful company, Northwest Security, Inc.

Tony married Sandi Hiner and they were together until she passed away in 1995. He married Sandra Disotell and they were together until she passed away in 2014. Everyone that knew him knows that he had two wonderful Sandi/y’s, who both gave him so much joy to have in his life.

Tony lived life large: He enjoyed flying small planes, river kayaking, whitewater rafting, camping, skiing, and hot-air ballooning. His gregarious personality made him a friend to everyone he met. He never knew a stranger no matter where he went.

Tony was preceded in death by his two wives, his father, and his step-father Mel Powell. He is survived by his mother, Barbara Powell, his sisters Connie Bartlett and Angela Robertson, his step-parents Wayne and Jeannie Stroud, his daughter Jessica Powers, his sons James Parent and Nathan Pueschel, his niece Nora Aston, and numerous other loving family, including his aunts Honey and Mary, with a list of good friends too numerous to count.

Services will be held Monday, July 11, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at Alden Waggoner Funeral Chapel, 5400 Fairview Avenue in Boise. In lieu of flowers, donations in Tony’s name can be made to a charity that brings kindness and love to those that need it.

“I realized, through it all, that… in the midst of winter, I found there was within me there was an invincible summer and that makes me happy.” –Albert Camus.
