We know that our service to the families we serve does not end at the time of the funeral or cremation. It is our desire to continue to help families with a variety of aftercare services, which include;
The grief packet is sent out to families following the funeral services and includes a Working Through Grief workbook, brochures, a list of Community Resources and further information about Alden-Waggoner AfterCare Services.
A personalized follow-up phone call is provided to families by Alden-Waggoner funeral directors. In addition to checking on the well being of the family, the funeral director offers assistance in filing necessary papers (VA, insurance, social security, etc.).
The Grief Resource Library offers a variety of books, pamphlets and videos that may be checked out by families. This is available to anyone in the community who needs information on grief and loss.
Our monthly Support Group offers a safe environment for those who are grieving. This group discusses various topics led by local professionals in the areas of grief counseling, health (mental and physical), finances, and dealing with the process of grief.
The Christmas Service of Remembrance is a non-denominational holiday service where loss can be acknowledged but the hope of the Christmas season is addressed through music, words, and ceremony. A special candle-lighting ceremony is incorporated with the names of loved ones being read as the flame is passed from one person to another. There is no charge for this service and everyone is welcome regardless of when or where the funeral was held.
